Literature Text

Morning comes, the sun shines in.
I open the window and feel the summer wind.
During this moment I see your face.
You seem so happy, all full of love.
I see the heavens, reining above.
When the sun sets again I close my eyes.
And wait again for it to rise.
Mid-summer night, mid-summer's wind,
and then again, the sun shines in.

Slowly though, this sunlight fades,
And my memory of your face, it wades,
I stare outside, but faintly I see,
Your smile, as it used to be.

Days pass, I can’t seem
To remember your face,
Not even in a dream.
I open the window, the clouds block the sun
I try and yet, I come up blank

Days keep passing,
Nothing lasting,
I thought about you every day,
How I wish you’d go away,
The memory you left behind,
It keeps me here,
Bound by invisible chains,
By the light you left behind,
And now,
Now is when it comes to an end.

I open the window, and yell to the world,
“I admit it, I loved her.”

I feel the rush, on the cold summer day.
I close the window.
That feeling of love,
No,
It is not gone, nor is it faint,
It is stronger than ever.

The sun pours in,
I see your smiling face,
Mid-summer’s night, mid-summer’s wind,
Once, again, the sun shines in.
